ALERT
ALERT, established in 2004 (Registration No. 307/2004), is a South India-based not-for-profit organization headquartered in Vijayawada. Led by YL Jayaraj, who has 47 years of experience in the NGO sector, ALERT specializes in empowering Adivasis in the Fifth Scheduled Areas of Andhra Pradesh. The organization is focused on ensuring the effective implementation of affirmative legislations, securing forest rights, and promoting self-governance and fair compensation for displaced Adivasis.
ALERT partnering with Adivasi Mahasabha, advocating for Adivasi rights and sustainable development supports in availing several thousand acres of individual and community forest rights besides facilitating effective service delivery. It supports natural resource management, fisheries, and the establishment of community-based organizations to enhance livelihoods. ALERT is governed by 35 policies, emphasizing gender justice, women’s empowerment, social inclusion, and sustainability.
Land Acquisition Act in promoting , protecting and defending the rights developments and welfare measures of involuntary displacements of Adivasi and Dalit families in availing fair and just compensation R&R packages as well as basic amenities in R&R colonies under Polavaram National Irrigation Project.
The organization actively monitors the Land Acquisition Act 2013 and works to ensure effective service delivery and sustainable development in Adivasi communities, aiming for a future of prosperity, peace, and justice.ALERT is a Non-governmental, Not for profit organization that was established in 2004 bearing the Registration No.307/2004. Since 2004, the organisation has been working in partnership with local communities on rights and entitlements, sustainable livelihood, participatory governance etc,. Since January 2016, with the support of BftW, Antyodaya Project is being implemented in six coastal mandals of Krishna District with Yenadi tribal communities who are most exploited and marginalized. They are formed into the Mass organziation and Cooperatives of Women, who are also organized into Matsya Mithra Groups.
